French Toast is a rarity in this house. Just like pancakes, it requires way too much time, babysitting on the stove, and since you can only make one or two slices at a time, the family is forced to eating in stages while one parent is stuck in the kitchen!
The Silpat (or Deep Flexiflat) solves that problem and makes clean up a breeze!!!
4-5 slices of hearty bread
2 Tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1. Preheat oven to 375°F and prep Silpat on Perforated Baking Sheet.
2. In small bowl mix eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon. Beat with a whisk until well blended. Pour egg mixture into shallow baking dish.
3. Using kitchen tongs dip both sides of the bread into the egg mixture until thoroughly coated. Please bread slices on Silpat.
4. Bake for approximately 20 minutes, flipping halfway through if desired. French toast slices will slide right off of the Silpat and can be eaten immediately with your favorite toppings!
This should feed about 2-4, but you could totally double or triple the recipe and bake two Silpats at a time!
